RAISING US UP

For that one night stand

There are times

when letting go of our selves,

free falling in tandem,

can shake us

free of our youth,

risking joy in the random.

There are times

when slipping out of our skin

into that of a stranger

can take us

deep into truth,

embraced by its danger.

Reclaiming our bodies, we move out of the night

and into a dawning – ancient, ageless and bright.
