POETIC JUSTICE

You stand here in the dock,
not for the first time,
accused of rhyming
without due care and attention.

When asked,
you have again refused
to produce your documents
and a scan through the books
has failed to find proof
of formal qualifications.

Averse to form, code, order,
past crimes include
writing under the influence,
exceeding statutory limits,
ignoring signs, lines, fines -
and talking without consent.

Your record shows
you have little regard
for previous judgments meted down
so having been read your writes
you will be banned from rhyming
and must surrender to this court
your poetic licence.
